Nancy Ellis has over 20 years experience in economic development focusing on business incentives, both as a consultant and as a Texas state program manager. Nancy worked extensively with both statutory and negotiated incentives, including local, state and federal grants, enterprise and empowerment zone programs, hiring and investment credits, exemptions, property tax incentives, sales tax refunds, "green" incentives, and training programs.
Nancy’s experience includes 13 years in a Big 4 accounting firm’s Credits & Incentives practice helping clients secure local, state and federal incentives. Her responsibilities included the analysis, research, documentation and presentation of findings, negotiations with applicable jurisdictions, development of work plans, and implementation of each incentive.
Nancy worked for over 7 years at the Texas Department of Commerce (now known as the Governor's Office for Economic Development) where she assisted communities and businesses understand and apply for state incentive programs, including the Texas Enterprise Zone program, Texas Capital Fund, Linked Deposit program, Job Training programs, and Loan Guaranty programs.
Nancy is a graduate of the University of Texas- Austin (Finance) and the Economic Development Institute in Norman, Oklahoma.
